I think I finally figured out why I’m such a lousy gardener. Not quite three weeks into this project and I’m bored with it. Bored, bored, bored.

Part of it’s a patience thing, and I just haven’t waited long enough for the long-term payoff, the time when I get to use the fresh, savory spices in dishes the guys are going to gag at.

But shouldn’t there be some entertainment in the interim? I water, I talk, I monitor. And they just sit there, refusing to amuse me. No fair.
